Established in 2014, the Department of Surgery began teaching General Surgery principles to third-year medical students. Initially led by Dr. Ammar Hameed Hweidi with only two faculty members, the department has since expanded to cover advanced surgical topics for 4th, 5th, and 6th-year students. Leadership The department has been chaired by several distinguished surgeons since its founding, each contributing to its academic growth.
