Department of Family and Community Medicine Overview
The Department of Family and Community Medicine is one of the core departments in medical colleges, focusing on primary healthcare, disease prevention, and community health management. Mission To enhance the academic and research capabilities of medical students, enabling them to:
- Identify and analyze community health problems
- Develop appropriate health plans and programs
- Promote health awareness and preventive care
- Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services
Vision To equip medical students with the knowledge and skills needed to become competent physicians capable of:
- Diagnosing, treating, and preventing common communicable and non-communicable diseases
- Conducting medical research to address public health challenges
- Improving healthcare delivery in underserved communities Teaching & Learning Methods The department employs a blended educational approach, including:
- Theoretical Lectures (disease prevention, epidemiology, health promotion)
