Overview
Academic advising at the College of Medicine, University of Fallujah, aims to help students succeed and excel academically by assisting them in overcoming academic challenges and obstacles, familiarizing them with university regulations and procedures, graduation requirements, and monitoring their academic performance.
Detailed Objectives
First: Academic Guidance:
- Helping students understand the study plan and graduation requirements, such as the number of credit hours and the required GPA.
- Assisting students in choosing a suitable specialization based on their interests, abilities, and the needs of the job market.
Second: Student Support:
- Monitoring student performance and supporting those who are struggling or have academic problems, addressing the difficulties and obstacles they encounter during their academic journey, while also developing and enhancing the performance of high-achieving students.
- Considering individual differences and special needs and creating an inclusive and supportive academic environment for all students.
- Informing students of official university regulations and procedures, such as being barred from exams for repeated absences or failing due to cheating, etc. Third: Orientation and Adjustment:
- Introducing new students to the academic system, their rights, and responsibilities.
- Helping students utilize available university activities and facilities.
Fourth: Personal Development:
- Building positive relationships between students, faculty members, and staff.
- Helping students develop the psychological, social, and educational skills necessary for success, in cooperation with the Psychological Counseling Unit.
