Department of Human Anatomy The Department of Human Anatomy is one of the fundamental departments in medical colleges, playing a crucial role in building a strong medical foundation for students. Department Mission To enhance the scientific and research capabilities of medical students, enabling them to: ✔ Identify pathological cells and distinguish them from normal cells in various body systems. ✔ Accurately diagnose diseases based on tissue and cellular structures. ✔ Conduct medical research with essential laboratory skills. Learning Objectives By the end of the course, students should be able to: 🔹 Correctly diagnose certain diseases through histological analysis. 🔹 Describe tissue layers and their types. 🔹 Perform microscopic examinations of normal and pathological tissues. 🔹 Distinguish malignant diseases from benign ones. 🔹 Acquire basic research skills for medical studies. Teaching & Learning Methods The course combines theoretical and practical approaches, including: 📖 Lectures & Seminars 🔬 Microscopic Slide Reading (Histology & Pathology) 💻 E-learning platforms & Smartboards 🎥 Video Lectures & PowerPoint Presentations 🧪 Lab Work & Microscopic Examinations Second-Stage Curriculum (Histology) First Semester (45 Theoretical Hours + 45 Practical Hours) By the end of the semester, students will understand: Tissue Structure & Classification Cell adhesion, membranes, and surface structures Epithelial tissues & glands Connective tissues (loose, dense, specialized) Blood cells & hematopoietic tissues Modified Connective Tissues Cartilage & Bone formation (ossification) Muscle tissues (skeletal, cardiac, smooth) Integumentary System Skin layers (epidermis, dermis, hypodermis) Skin appendages (hair follicles, sweat glands) Nervous System Neurons & nerve fibers Ganglia, brain, spinal cord, and enteric nerves Cardiovascular & Lymphatic Systems Blood vessels (arteries, veins, capillaries, anastomosis) Lymphatic vessels & lymphoid organs (lymph nodes, tonsils, thymus, spleen) B & T lymphocytes in immune response Examination & Evaluation (Second Stage) First Semester Assessment: 📝 Quizzes & Assignments (during lectures) 💻 E-learning platform exams 📚 Midterm Exam (theoretical + practical slide tests) 🎓 Final Exam (theoretical + practical histology slides) 🔹 Department of Human Anatomy 🔹 College of Medicine - University of Fallujah (Media & Government Communication Division)
