The Family and Community Medicine is considered as one of the basic branches in medical colleges.
Mission: To raise the scientific and research level of the medical students to be doctors capable of describing society’s problems and then developing appropriate plans and programs to promote health and solving the problems among members of society.
Vision: The Family and Community Medicine Department aims to provide the students with the sciences, knowledge and skills that aim to:
- Analyze, diagnose, treat, prevent and control common diseases (communicable and non-communicable diseases) in the community
- Providing the student with the basic skills necessary to conduct the medical research.
Learning and teaching methods are conducted via: Theoretical lectures, seminars, workshops and practical exercises & field visits to the primary health care centers and teaching hospitals.
